The 11th Marine Starfighter Squadron, callsign Hardpoint, was a starfighter unit that served as part of the Republic Marines' 3rd Marine Aerospace Wing.
History[]
During the Mandalorian Wars and Jedi Civil War, the squadron flew the Aurek tactical strikefighter during its tours of duty aboard various Republic Navy warships. In 3,959 BBY, the unit was one of the first to scramble in response to the newly-established Sith Empire's raid on the strategic shipyards at Foerost.
The squadron later flew combat during the Republic's defense of Rodia from an attack by Darth Revan's forces. During the counteroffensive at Iridonia, the squadron flew close-support missions for Marine and Army units at Mon Gazza and Lannik itself. For the next year and a half, the squadron served as part of the defense force guarding the Kuat Drive Yards facilities in orbit of Kuat, before working up with other elite units, including the 23rd Marine Starfighter Squadron on Coruscant. In 3,956 BBY the two units were summoned by Captain Caescar Piccolé, the unit's former commanding officer and a longtime member, to participate in the Battle of Rakata Prime.
