I'm interested in it. Could be like a sort of thriller, which I think is neat. However, I would have you consider that you don't have anything with the outside world till the end, to make the end twist be more impactful. However, I think it could still work if you have a small plot-line involving the First Order scientists and maybe an outside Resistance guy or two. It matters more how many characters you think you can handle.

Also, I would be interested to see the other ideas

It would be interesting for you to create a new Rogue Squadron, set maybe in 30-40 ABY in the Legacy Era. Or, do the adventures of Rogue Squadron in Canon, after the Battle of Endor.
