This page is an archive of the discussion about ending the partnership with Halo Fanon. The decision was to end the partnership with Halo Fanon. - President Brandon Rhea (Pressroom) (Accomplishments) 23:28, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
I propose that we remove partnership from the Halo Fanon Wiki (which is currently one of our "partners") because I had previously contributed there and recently found out that if a writer's content is "not canon friendly", then it must be changed or deleted. Another thing is that if an article uses the same concepts (ex. same squadron or same spartan number) then the other user must change his content accordingly or else his stuff will be deleted. How in the world can you call yourself a "fanon" wiki when you aren't allowing users to write fanon? To me, that's bull. The dispute with my articles was ridiculous, and I believe that we should not make a website that is crap our "partner".
The wiki is also very, very disorganized, messy, and the administrators never attend to their duties (deleting candidates for deletion, etc). That Wiki is what I call a dictatorship. They are making sure only the content they want allowed is allowed. We, SWFanon, have never put limits on content. If Tyler wants to make a droid Force sensitive, be my guest. Or if someone wants to make Darth Krayt somebody else, they can. Why? Because it's a Fanon Wiki. SWF never put limits on what you can write about, as long as no vulgarity is within, and SWF is strict on technical issues. The critic's lounge was created to critique others' work, but not to force them to change it. Therefore, I believe that the SWFanon Wiki and the Halo Fanon Wiki are two completely different Wikis that should not be partners, since the Halo Fanon Wiki administration full of themselves, believing they can deem who writes about what.
If you want to see the content and the dispute discussions, please tell me and I can link you, or you can just go to the Halo Fanon wiki yourself (on the left under Official partners) and see my contributions. I must warn you the content there is explicit.
I propose we remove their partnership. Please discuss below. --Don Victor, Sr. (contact) 09:58, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

We have to set limits, but not to restrict your creative genius but to restrict your retardedness. Ships with drills, sniper rocket plasma launchers, new factions, etc

Wow, that's absolutely rediculous. I say remove it immediately. Do we even need a consensus for nonsense like this? - President Brandon Rhea (Pressroom) (Accomplishments) 16:49, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
If no one else objects, I'll start a consensus below. I am appalled that a fanon wiki would be so restrictive. Jesus Freak NK says NK's 'mazin' articles 17:55, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

I'm glad you guys support this. I am removing their "partnership" and notifying them on their Wiki (H*Bad or whoever it was that proposed it in the first place). --Don Victor, Sr. (contact) 22:01, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
- I'll notify them. They don't seem to like you very much. - President Brandon Rhea (Pressroom) (Accomplishments) 22:02, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

Additional Comments[]
Okay, this is nonsense. I made a few comments in the (you guessed it) COMMENTS section of one of their new community consensuses based upon this little mishap, and my comments were to ask a few questions and such. Now an Administrator over there leaves a message on my talk page saying that I impersonated a user of that site in order to make a vote in support of this policy proposal. This is absolutely rediculous. - President Brandon Rhea (Pressroom) (Accomplishments) 19:52, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
- They admitted they were wrong and apologized. - President Brandon Rhea (Pressroom) (Accomplishments) 20:24, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
- What the heck? I guess they just can't take criticism. --Don Victor, Sr. (contact) 22:20, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
- Nah, it's just that they jumped to conclusions. - President Brandon Rhea (Pressroom) (Accomplishments) 22:26, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
- Well, something made 'em mad. --Don Victor, Sr. (contact) 22:43, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
Wow, looking at that wiki, I agree they need to straighten things up quite a bit. That's not what a fanon wiki should be like. I am mixed, however, on how we should protest. --C3PO the Dragon Slayer 6,000,000 forms of communication | Dragons I've Slayed 21:42, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
- The only way we can really protest is by doing what we already did (removing partnership) and offering our opinions. We cannot, however, go over there and say "you need to do this" or "you need to do that". We can suggest, but not demand. As one of the users there said today, "I love the Star Wars Fanon users courtesy. I rarely see it online any more. I give my thanks." We don't want to compromise that image. - President Brandon Rhea (Pressroom) (Accomplishments) 21:57, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

Hmm, i feel compelled to post here, and post i shall, i'll either just make HF's case worse or get mocked, either way, i'm good. The seeds in this dissent were sowed when Squishy Vic's article came under NCF tag, because of problems. He didn't match clearly set out bounds with in Halo Canon with his Spartan number being 227, above the 150 limit (as a SW version, somebody saying there was a 13th mnember of Rogue Squadron) and some things didn't make sense in his article. And as a result, because he broke the rules and we pointed at him where he went wrong her got up in arms. Oh and as for that rule on 'not being able to have spartans of a certain number because they are taken', it was a defunct rule that is unsupported by the majority of admins though members still refer to it, funnily enough made by the 'savior of HF'. And as for our 'restriction of creative genius' we NCF tag the things that aren't in the halo universe, like telekenetics, super corps that rule words with fleets of thousands and the like. And i'm sure Kebath won't mind me quoting him here.
"I have just read the SW discussion. They accuse us of too much. We may have restrictions, but only for the best. Their are no monarchs here in this fanon. Their universe is much different than ours, and that gives them (less restrictions) than they need. They have magic (Force Powers), as well as highly advanced technology. We have our universe basing things on more realistic terms such as plain advanced technology from a real galaxy, universe, whatever you want to use in its place. We have no magic abilities in our universe. Just about everything makes sense here in halo fanon. If an article goes too far beyond plausible reality, then it needs to be changed. SW is based in a- (from actual words in SW): "A long time ago, in a galaxy -"Far far away"-" universe giveing them the ability to have whatever they want in their universe. They don't have the luxury of realistic restrictions"
That is all.
Ajax 013
- EDIT*
My analogy of Rogue Squadron to Spartan numbers may not be the best. but theres a restricted number choice for Spartans, with it being from 1-150.
The End[]
We don't need to debate this anymore here or on Halo Fanon, because it's only going to turn into an argument and absolutely nothing will come from it. Therefore, this page is now an archive. - President Brandon Rhea (Pressroom) (Accomplishments) 23:28, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
